Sounds in Quest of the Moon, Planets, and Beyond

There are certain historic moments that many people of each generation will never forget, and, in fact, can recall where they were when the event happened.

Do you remember . . .

  • President John Kennedy's challenge to go to the moon, “We choose to go to the moon . . . ”
  • Apollo 13 astronaut Jack Swigert's quote, “Houston, we've had a problem here,” followed by Jim Lovell's statement, “Houston, we've had a problem.”
  • Neil Armstrong's first words as he stepped on the surface of the Moon, “That's one small step for man . . . ”

Reminisce, or hear for the first time, the sounds of a rocket countdown, an astronaut's report that his space shuttle left Earth's gravitational pull, Astronaut Neil Armstrong's first words as he stepped on lunar soil, the beep-beep-beep of Sputnik, and other sounds in man's quest to leave Earth.
