BVAC Community Outreach Activities

In February, Warren Bracewell, Tim Cowden, and Tom Campbell participated in Math/Science Night at Fannin Elementary School in Bryan. This was the first opportunity for many students to look through the eyepiece of a telescope.
The BVAC members set up the following telescopes:
- 8-inch Dob - Tim
- 10-inch Z-Scope Dob - Warren
- 12-inch Zhumell Dob and 80mm Meade refractor - Tom
The clouds rolled in but it did not keep the children from enjoying the telescopes. The kids had a great time looking through telescopes at street signs, chimneys, weather vanes, and trees.
Approximately 40 people attended the event.

BVAC does not publish images of children under 13 years of age without parental permission and is therefore compliant with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
